Customer Reviews of KidCo Baby Food Grinder F700
Customer Rating: Summary: Excellent Food Grinder Comment: This is an excellent product. I have used a similar one for over 25 years and it is still working. We use it daily at a child care facility and have never had a problem with ours. The only difference I see is the top disk on this one is heavy plastic rather than metal. The grinder is still metal, but the top disk (with the round holes in it) is plastic. Hopefully it will last as long as the original. Customer Rating: Summary: Mix foods with cottage cheese Comment: A tip - we mix whatever we're having for dinner, and if it's too dry or doesn't grind well, we add some cottage cheese. It helps it go through the grinder, and makes it stick together so it's easier to handle the food. I notice one review found the unit hard to disassemble. It *is* a little confusing at first (you unscrew the knob at the top and the crank fits on a spline, which is counterintuitive), but once you get the hang of it I found it to be straightforward. We have never bought any baby food (have you ever tasted that stuff?) and always gave our daughter what we were having, including all the spicy stuff! Now she is a great eater and shies away from very few foods. Customer Rating: Summary: Great product Comment: This product did exactly what I wanted. It ground all kinds of food including pizza and a cooked hamburger for two adults who have swallow/aspiration issues with a normal diet. It cleaned easily and for short term travel it was perfect. Customer Rating: Summary: Kidco food mill Comment: I was excited to start making my own baby food. Unfortunately, this did not live up to my expectations. It was hard to take apart to wash (there seems to be no easy way to get the crank out or detach the rubber ring). It's not like I have a whole lot of spare time to waste. It wasn't good for starting solids as it did not fully mash anything but bananas... and really, a fork can do that. I am throwing this away and just using my blender. Customer Rating: Summary: would not buy except for travel Comment: I find this product looks like a toy. It is very light, small and does not look solid. I bought an electric mill after buying this one. I kept the Kidco one for travel. Model F700 Made in USA Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice.
