Customer Reviews of Cuisinart CEC-7 Egg Cooker
Customer Rating: Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5Rating: 5/5
Summary: Excellent Egg Cooker!
Comment: I have always had trouble peeling eggs when I boiled them because the shells would stick to the eggs and break off only in little pieces. Now with this egg cooker the peels come off so easy without taking half the egg with them. I love it and will now return to making more deviled eggs. It also cooks them perfectly...no more guessing on when they are done!

Summary: Makes perfect eggs!
Comment: I have never been able to make the perfect hard boiled egg. These come out perfect- they are easy to shell, and my husband loves the pouched eggs.The beeper lets you know when they are done. Highly recommenend this one.

Summary: Perfect Eggs Every Time
Comment: This egg cooker is my favorite kitchen helper! Eggs turn out perfect every time and the shells are easily peeled away. I've given several of these as gifts and received tons of thanks.

Summary: Don't buy
Comment: This cooker started leaking water all over my counter a few months after I bought it. I had to resort to putting it on a cookie sheet when I used it. I eventually got tired of that and threw it away. I would not ever buy this egg cooker again!

Customer Rating: Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5Rating: 1/5
Summary: Designer's Dream : Cook's Nightmare
Comment: The snazzy egg shape design looks great on the shelf in the store, but don't be fooled. This egg cooker is to look at, not to use. Once the plastic egg holder warps (after using it a couple of times), it no longer seals against the base, and you will end up with a pool of water each time you make eggs. The little measuring cup with the egg pricker on the bottom was invented by Snow White's evil grandmother -- expect to sometimes prick your finger when rinsing. Finally, the warning beep that tells you the eggs are done has to be turned off manually. Find something better, that is, unless you want an nifty egg-shaped, stainless ornament.

More Reviews Cooking eggs has never been easier! The Cuisinart Egg Cooker precisely cooks up to 7 eggs in shells -- hard, medium or soft -- or perfectly poaches up to 3 eggs at once. The amount of water you add precisely controls cooking time, while indicator lights, an audible signal, and auto-shutoff prevent overcooking. Cuisinart signature stainless looks great, and the results are always exactly what you ordered! Limited 3 year warranty

Choosing Appliance -> Fridge / Freezers
A large number of freezers have eliminated defrosting by continually circulating the air inside the freezer compartment, thus avoiding frost build-up -- a feature well worth paying a little extra for.
Choosing Appliance -> Hobs
If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.

Kitchen tips -> Potatoes
  • When selecting, choose potatoes that are nicely shaped and have smooth skins. Avoid any that have bruises or other blemishes, and any that have eyes that have begun to sprout.
  • Do not store potatoes close to onions. The onions will cause the potatoes to rot faster.
  • Place an apple in the bag with the potatoes to keep them from sprouting.
