Summary: Burrtastic!
Comment: This is my 1st coffee grinder. It's burrtastic! Thank you to all the previous reviews which helped me come across this terrific Burr grinder. I was originally gonna get a Krups grinder in the assumption it's good and found out through Amazon reviews the one to get is this Capresso's burr grinder (terrific for expresso).

I am very glad I chose this. It's very quiet, has lots of grind option settings and looks great too!

Like other reviews have said, it is a little messy but not as bad I had imagined it to be.

I have found quite a bit of left over grounded coffee in the lower burr chamber. I found if you tilt the grinder forward, with use of the brush, you can relatively easily get the remainder of the grinds out for use.

I can't get over how fresh, great tasting my Starbucks iced latte came out. Just like Starbucks! Worth every penny!

Summary: What a mess this thing makes.
Comment: After my Capresso 555 coffee grinder died, I naturally looked to buy another Capresso as a replacement since I liked the old Capresso so much.

This Capresso Infinity costs twice as much and makes twice the mess on the countertop.

One big engineering flaw... the clear plastic container the coffee discharges into migrates out of the machine during the grinding process... what a mess that makes! I always have to remember to place something heavy in front of it to hold it in.

I never had a static problem grinding coffee in my old Capresso, but this Capresso Infinity certainly has static. I find that tapping on the container to discharge static helps a little... and waiting an hour or so before removing the basket also helps... but, who wants to wait an hour to brew coffee?

No matter what I do, the ground coffee just hops out of the container like a bunch of fleas. I never had anything to clean up with my old Capresso, but this Capresso Infinity makes way too much mess.

Summary: Burr grinders rock
Comment: my first burr grinder, so I don't have anything to compare it to...however, it works great and the instructions are VERY clear on how to set and twist the clear plastic "bowl" for the beans. Takes a few tries to get used to the "set and twist," but is effortless afterward. I have a tendency to quickly clean it out after every grind, but it doesn't appear to be a requirement. Very low maintenance.

Summary: Excellent coffee grinder!
Comment: We switched from a basic coffee grinder to the Capresso Burr Grinder, and can really tell a difference. The grind settings make it easy to get exactly what you need for great espresso. Worth the price!

Summary: Gerat coffee grinder
Comment: This is the first burr type grinder we have owned. Our old blade grinder finally broke so I bought one for my husband's birthday based on the reviews here and elsewhere. He uses it for a french press. I actually had stopped grinding my own coffee because I could never get it fine enough for my small espresso machine. I have been having it ground at the store where I buy my espresso beans, therefore having to grind a a lot at one time and not having it freshly ground every day which is better for freshness.

I thought I would give it a try myself, and was amazed at what a great, and fast job it did. There is one caveat that I see has been mentioned by some of the reviewers here. It is very easy to grind coffee TOO FINE for your particular espresso machine. I didn't read the instructions carefully when I first used it and and ground it on the Extra Fine settings. After making espresso a couple of times, my coffee maker clogged up and I had to take it apart and clean it out. When I reread the instructions it said that use Extra Fine for SOME pump espresso machines (presumably not small ones like mine.) So I tried various FINE settings until I found the right one. This time I started courser and worked my way to finer so I wouldn't clog up the espresso machine again.

Another thing that some others have mentioned: if you are grinding different kind of beans with it like we do, you have to remember to clean it out or you will end up having courser, lighter grinds mixed in with your dark finer ones, because the grinder does leave some coffee behind.

More Reviews Conical Burr Grinders preserve the most aromas and can grind very fine and very consistent. The intricate design of the steel burrs allow a high gear reduction to slow down the grinding speed. The slower the speed the less heat is imparted to the ground coffee, thus preserving a maximum amount of aroma. Because of the wide range of grind settings these grinders are ideal for all kinds of coffee equipment such as Espresso, Drip, Percolators, French Press. It can also grind extra fine for the preparation of Turkish coffee. Slowest grinding speed in its class creates less friction and heat build up preserving maximum aroma and flavor in any grind setting Tight fitting ground coffee container, holds up to 4 ounces of ground coffee See-through bean container holds up to 8.8 ounces of beans Timer can be set to grind from 5 to 60 seconds Elegant, timeless and user-friendly design Cleaning brush and measuring scoop included Dimensions - Height 10.8 x Width 5.4 x Length 7.7 Weight - 3.3 pounds

Choosing Appliance -> Ladles
Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes.
Choosing Appliance -> Built-in Ovens
Ease of cleaning is well worth considering at the outset. Stay clean liners resist dirt build-up but pyrolitic cleaning is the ultimate. It burns off all baked-on debris at 500°C so that all you have to do is sweep out the resulting ash. Look out for ovens with a steam cleaning facility, too, and remember that some ovens have removable inner doors that are easy to clean.

Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Heat
Rather than cause accidental heat-damage, prevent such damage in the first place:
  • Always use a heat protection pad or trivet (with rubber feet) for hot cookware, or leave cookware to cool on the hob first. Never put hot pans, particularly cast iron. Such heat can damage any surface!
  • If you must put a hot pan on the base of a sink use a protective sink mat, sponge, or cloth beneath. It is best to leave the utensil to cool slightly first, or put a few inches of cool water in the sink before the pan.
  • Avoid pouring boiling liquids directly into sinks without turning on the cold tap as well.
