Customer Rating:   Summary: Great for the price Comment: Needed a product that shredded and sliced and this fit the bill, plus it has storage containers that you are shredding or slicing right into. Makes for a great process and freeze. Cuts out all the mess of extra bowls and clean-up. Customer Rating: Summary: Great appliance but doesn't last long Comment: I have owned 2 of these and love them. They are awesome and I have had so many friends ask where I found it. It's the best appliance I have ever used for grading cheese. It dosen't take up too much space and it's easy to clean. The only problem with it is that it dosen't last long. The two I have owned lasted less than 1 year and then they started to smell like melting plastic and then the blade stopped turning. I did use each one at least 2-3 times a week. I am ordering another one only I am keeping the box and reciept together so that I can take advantage of the warranty this time. I simply wore it out and could not find another one like it at our local stores. I turned to Amazon where I found it at a great price. I was lost until I got the new one in the mail. Choosing Appliance -> Convection Ovens Convection ovens allow you to bake more foods (cookies, muffins, etc.) at once with even browning, but without the need to shift and rotate pans. A convection oven is the same as a conventional oven except a fan is installed in the back interior of the oven. The fan is used to blow and force the heat to circulate in the oven and around the food, thus eliminating the need to rotate and shift pans. In reality, though, even with the most expensive convection ovens, you will still need to rotate your foods, because there will always exist still hot spots in the cavity, because the cavity is small. Don't compare home convection ovens with most commercial convection ovens used by bakers and small food manufacturers, because their commercial ovens are much larger than home ovens and commercial ovens don't have any hot spots and therefore, there's no need to shift and rotate pans. Choosing Appliance -> Mixer Pretty much the same thoughts as the food processor. High quality mixers are great for making bread or other tough jobs. Every kitchen should have one. Be sure that any mixer has all three attachments: paddle, dough hook, and whip. Also, find a spot on the counter where it can be easily accessed at a moment's notice.
