Customer Rating:   Summary: Very good and durable for my smoothies Comment: I've been using the Magic Bullet every weekday for about a year. I throw in a banana, some frozen fruit (mostly strawberries), water, and some protein powder. I have not had any problems at all. I read some reviews with people having trouble -- I'm not sure what they were trying to use it for, but it works fine for me; very satisfactory. I will give this advice -- if you're using frozen-hard fruit, you might want to let it thaw for a few minutes first. As I say, I use my Magic Bullet for one thing -- smoothies. It's true that if you run it for more than 10-15 seconds at a time, it might start running hot, but that's more than enough time for my purposes. The little plastic nibs one usually expects to break off never did, so I'm happy and drinking a smoothie right now! Customer Rating: Summary: Blending Bliss Comment: Mind you this is a small blender that is best used for small tasks. It is great for smoothies. In fact, I just pulled it out of the box and made me a smoothie (yogurt, low fat milk, orange juice, fresh stawberries). My smoothy was great and I can not wait to make fresh sausa with it! I like it alot and plan on using it for iced coffee and smoothies primarily, but you never know what I might whip up with this little baby. The negative reviews are a bit harsh. I think anyone who buys this should read the booklet that comes with it and is very helpful. I tried to make a 6 second egg salad and it only mixed the bottom ingredients and left the clerey and onions almost intact. And yes I followed the step by step insturction. Very disappointed Customer Rating: Summary: Over a year now and I love it! Comment: No offense to all the negative reviewers, but I've had the bullet for over a year now and LOVE IT! I use it every morning (without fail) for smoothies and I've also used it for basic chopping. It's the easiest cleanup of any blender I've had. I don't use it to juice and I don't expect it to be a full-blown food processor - that's not what it was designed for. For the price, and what you get out of it in terms of speed and production, you can't beat it. I make a smoothie faster than my coffeemaker brews in the morning. Common sense dictates that you don't put the plastic parts on the bottom rack of the dishwasher (hello!?) - I've put mine in the top rack of the dishwasher and the only thing I had to do was readjust the wring seal around the base, but that only takes a second. AND, the product came with extra wring seals in case I have to replace one. Honestly, this product has become part of my weight loss, return to health daily program. And it has such a small footprint on my countertop I barely notice it. I'm ordering two more for Christmas gifts. Gave it a 4 because it's not a perfect appliance, and on some things it didn't chop as well as expected, but that doesn't bother me a bit. Customer Rating: Summary: Useful, but not a blender. Comment: I got this as a wedding gift, it sat in the box for the first year. It is very useful as several people have mentioned for smoothies and things of that nature. I've used it to grind spices as well and did a very good job. I don't give this product 5 stars because well, it's not a blender - I don't want to make individual margaritas if I have friends over or make the same smoothie three times so that everyone can have one. I am not sure if they make an attachement that would allow for larger batches to be made but that would take this review from 4 stars to 5. Choosing Appliance -> Ladles Look for ladles that are made of one piece of stainless steel rather than a handle and dome which are spot welded together. With use, spot welded ladles tend to come apart. Buy several differnet sizes. Choosing Appliance -> Dishwashers Look for models with adjustable baskets and flexible internal layouts for varying load requirements. For example, a tilting upper basket allows large 30cm diameter plates in the lower basket and extra flaps can be raised or lowered to cater for small items or large pans. Useful info -> Dishwashers Don't put up with intrusive machine noise in the kitchen. Most dishwashers are now whisper quiet, 45-49dB being typical. You should still be able to watch the television or hold a conversation whilst the machine is operating. |
