Followed the instructions--1 T. oil, plus 1/4 cup Orville Reddenbacher's gourmet popcorn, plus 1 T. margarine on top. I've made about 6 batches and all taste the same: chewy, not fresh and light. Much better than the microwavable stuff. Fairly easy to use and clean up. Pop's about 80% of the kernels as long as you don't overfill it. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.
