Customer Reviews of Rival 2275-WN Electric Food Grinder
Customer Rating: Summary: Rival Meat Grinder works fine! Comment: We have used our meat grinder twice since purchasing it. We ground 4 lbs of chuck roast each time with no problems. Easy assembly and cleaning. Customer Rating: Summary: Easy to use Comment: I paid for another meat grinder a few years back that, bit the dust, first it cost more, then the Rival, it made more noise, it weighed more. So far I have had only the best experience with the Rival Food Grinder, it's light compared to other electric grinders I have owned, costs less, and is extremely easy to assemble and disassemble. So far it's the best one I have owned for the cost. Customer Rating: Summary: Helpful Tips Comment: This is what I've learned from experience in trials and error. You should cut the meat in chunks smaller than the tube and you should partially freeze it otherwise it will clog from all the stringy stuffs in the meat. It depends on your freezer and the temperature of the meat after cutting but I think between 20 and 40 minutes should be adequate. Experiment with the time a little. If it's not frozen enough, it will clog prematurely and if it's too frozen, you will damage your grinder. I have it down to a science and I can grind 20lbs cut up rump roast or chuck roast in about 15 minutes without it clogging. Customer Rating: Summary: Not a quality product Comment: I bought this product from Amazon. After the first use, the metal parts started to rust. Return the product as a result. Customer Rating: Summary: Food Grinder Comment: LOVE the food grinder--bought a rump roast on sale and had ground round for a fraction of the usual cost. But do not buy just any plastic wrap. Go to a restaurant supply store and buy a large roll of restaurant plastic wrap. It sticks much better than the common grocery store plastic wrap and is much cheaper per foot. Choosing Appliance -> Sinks Consider which accessories might be beneficial. Many models can be supplied with a draining basket, chopping board and strainer bowls. A drainer extension can be useful for sinks without a drainer where worktop space is limited in a small kitchen. Rival 2275-WN Electric Food Grinder Kitchen tips -> Chopping and Mincing When you want to finely chop foods such as: onions, garlic, parsley, or other items, pivot your knife by keeping the tip of the knife on the cutting surface at all times and hold the knife at an angle, about 95' angle, towards the hand holding the tip. This way, you use the blade to push and keep the food particles down, thus making them easier to chop. If the knife should slip, then the sharp side of the blade will slide away from where you're working, and away from your other hand and fingers. In addition, you make less noise, as compared to when raising and lowering the knife of the cutting surface trying to mince foods. |
