It arrived without damage and keeps the temperature just fine. Noise level is acceptable (nothing amazing, but its not bad either). The packaging is in fact attrocious. There is literally no foam padding of any kind. Amazon packs its books better than Haier packs its fridge. Only order if you have Amazon Prime - upgrade it to overnight shipping ($3.99) and your order is unlikely to arrive with any damage. The less time in shipping, the less likely you are to see damage. Choosing Appliance -> Spoons Buy stainless spoons (both slotted and non-slotted) which are solid and won't bend no matter how tough the job. Also, buy several high quality wooden spoons for stirring delicate dishes like risotto (the sharp edge of a metal spoon would cut or bruise the rice). Choosing Appliance -> Hobs If you enjoy eastern cuisine, you can buy a speciality hob with a wok burner. Similarly if you are a BBQ fan, choose a BBQ grill. If you are left handed, go for front rather than right hand side controls as this eliminates the risk of reaching across the heat. If you cook for a large family, more than four rings may be useful, and if you have young children it may be worth considering paying a little extra for a hob guard or in the case of gas, choosing an automatic re-ignition or cut off device should the flame blow out.
