Customer Rating:   Summary: OK Comment: Bought this to replace an old black and decker under the cabinet opener. We couldn't use the same holes we had to drill new ones. I doesn't close up like the older one. It doesn't open cans as nicely. It leaves quite a jagged edge on the cans so you have to be cafeful. I have not had any problem with it opening cans and it works on any size. I wish B & D would have kept with something closer in style to the old design. It would have been nice not to have to drill more holes in the underside of my kitchen cabinets. Customer Rating: Summary: Love it!! Great can opener, great convenience. Comment: We just moved into a new apartment on October 1st and although the kitchen is nice, the counter space is limited. I had a counter top can-opener and we just needed more room. I had read the reviews and was a little wary about buying this can opener because of the negative ones, but I went ahead and got it anyway. I am so glad that I did. Jim had it installed in about 10-15 minutes. It works like a dream and I use it pretty much every day. We were thinking about intalling it back a little on the underside of the cabinet but decided to install it right at the edge to make it easier to remove the blade for cleaning. I've had this can opener for over a month and am very, very happy with it. It opens cans beautifully and the bottle opener is very convenient (no more hunting through drawers). Not only do the colors match my decor but now I have plenty of counter space for my other kitchen appliances. Love it!! Comment: After reading the other reviews here, I was really nervous about purchasing this, but our other one (also a B&D) had broken after ~12 years, and I couldn't imagine not having one. I was also concerned about installation since I knew that I'd hear the grousing from DH if it was difficult. But, my worries were unfounded. Installation was fine. We were a little disapointed that the holes didn't match exactly (but SO close - why do they do that?), but DH installed without a problem. It's been working fine. I have to admit, I've only opened about 6 cans so far, but they have all opened with ease. Customer Rating: Summary: Not Reliable! Comment: I gave this can opener one star because it looks nice (and because Amazon doesn't allow "0" stars). Unfortunately, I did not purchase it as "Kitchen Art" but rather to open cans. Technically, it doesn't even save counter space as I now have to replace it after fewer than 1 dozen cans! Amazon's exchange/refund policy would not cover it (because it stopped working after a little more than 30 days after I received it, although I wasn't able to actually install/use it for a couple of weeks after it arrived). Choosing Appliance -> Non-stick Pans We recommend having at least 1 high quality non-stick saute pan. It makes cooking eggs and delicate items like fish a breeze. It also cuts down on the amount of fat necessary to effectively saute. The best place to buy such pans is from a restaurant supplier. Choosing Appliance -> Taps Dual-flow mixers provide independent hot, cold or mixed water after leaving the end of the spout. They can be deck-mounted on the sink or pillar/bridge-mounted for a more traditional look. Tips How to Maintain Appliance -> Natural Granite Maintenance Granite must not be rubbed with abrasive materials instead, wash with clean warm water to which a non-abrasive light neutral detergent (PH7) may be added. Rinse with clean warm water and dry with a chamois leather or similar. Drainer Grooves can be cleaned using wire wool. |
