Customer Reviews of Panasonic NN-SN657S 1300-Watt 1-1/5-Cubic-Foot Sensor Microwave Oven, Stainless Steel
Customer Rating: Summary: Top of the line INVERTER! Comment: Our 10+ year old Sharp bit the dust so I looked at the Panasonic Inverter Microwave. Paid a little more than the other basic models ($100-$125) but after using it for a few weeks, well worth it. The sensor button is great. You don't have to guess, is it 35 seconds or 54 seconds? Food comes out hot every time! Pay attention to the popcorn button. You have to get the size of the bag correct or results will suffer. Turbo defrost is another great function. 1300 watts will defrost most frozen meals very quickly. Interior is very large, but the entire unit is about the same size as the old Sharp and the interior is much bigger The display is a yellow color and is difficult to see from angles other than directly in front. The inverter is a way for microwaves to be generated at different levels. My old microwave would cycle on and off to maintain power levels less than 100%. The Panasonic just hums along at any level without the lights dimming in the kitchen. This is a high quality, LARGE, full function microwave. No, it isn't all stainless steel, and it doesn't cost $400. I would recommend this to anyone wanting to invest in a quality microwave that will last a long time. Customer Rating: Summary: Built for short people Comment: Microwave works great except for the terrible front panel display. If, like me, you install the unit on a counter top and want to be able to read the display, you had better be under 5 feet tall. Unreadable unless you stoop down... Customer Rating: Summary: panasonic microwave review Comment: I bought this model at Wal-mart, and came to Amazon to check for price comparison (Looking for microwave as a christmas present). I've been very happy with purchase. Microwave looks very nice, I have mine sitting on a stand. Nice features, large capacity, powerful, quiet, and heats very quickly/evenly. Would definitley recommend this product based on the performance of the one I purchased. Amazon plus-10 or 15 dollars cheaper than what I paid. Customer Rating: Summary: Panasonic NN-SN657S Comment: We LOVE this microwave oven. It is small enough to fit in the boxed space in our cabinetry provided by the cabinet people. It is the exact size for the space. Not only that, but this microwave heats lightning fast! Normally putting soup in the microwave we had to heat it for about 4 or 5 minutes for it to be hot. Now it takes about 2 minutes. 1300 watts is a big difference. The price was right. I did a lot of research on microwaves. I wanted a stainless steel look as well. This is really a nice one as far as I am concerned. I'd buy it for any family member that's how much I feel that it is a great product. Shipping was perfect. No dents, no bruises. Customer Rating: Summary: Great....while it lasted Comment: We bought this model at Target and tonight it died in the middle of warming dinner. We liked the features on this microwave very much. We purchased this microwave within the past 12 months. So be warned that it doesn't have a long life. There are other reviews on Target's website that I read tonight that they also had the same short life as our's did. More Reviews 1.2 cu ft; 1300 Watts cooking power; flat panel; stainless front with silver body; one-touch sensor cooking and reheat; inverter turbo defrost; 4 digit display; keep warm setting; popcorn key; quick minute; more/less control. Choosing Appliance -> Strainers We recommend 2 strainers for every kitchen. The first is a solid stainless steel colander (one big enough to wash a lot of lettuce at once). The second strainer is a fine mesh conical strainer (called a chinois) which is a must for any serious sauce or stock making. A chinois is an expensive purchase, but with care it will last many years. Choosing Appliance -> Whip / Whisk Many still consider a whip as a "gourmet" piece of kitchen equipment. Nothing could be further from the truth. It is as essential as a kitchen stove and should be in everyone's kitchen. Nothing works better for mixing a multitude of different preparations or for making sauces or gravy. Buy a solid stainless steel whip with moderately stiff wires. Very thin wires are for mixing delicate things like egg whites or whipped cream. Very thick, solid wires are for mixing stiff dough.
